Cover Letter:

**To whom it may concern,**
I am Tamim Hussein, a fresh graduate having BS in Bioinformatics from the Lebanese American University (LAU). My journey into the world of academic and personal growth began in 2018 when I had the opportunity to represent Lebanon at the AFPC in ASU-Jordan. There, I had the chance to meet people from all over the Arab world. This experience broadened my horizons and encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, setting the stage for my academic pursuits.
I began my academic journey in biology aspiring to attend medical school. However, I soon recognized the critical role of coding and software skills in healthcare and medical studies. So, I shifted to Bioinformatics, combining my early coding skills with biology to address emerging needs in drug design, genomics, and data analysis. This field aligned with my vision for advancing disease diagnosis and treatment.
During my studies, I worked with great doctors who taught me out of their academic experiences and personal contributions which enhanced my knowledge, triggered my curiosity, and motivated me to bring more to science and the scientific community. One of my most rewarding experiences was my capstone project, where I explored the interactions between the protein PTEN and its ligand IP3. I applied key biological concepts and employed bioinformatics tools such as Chimera X, MUSCLE, and PRODEGY. This hands-on experience deepened my understanding of real-world applications and underscored the critical role of bioinformatics in advancing future medical research.
Pursuing bioinformatics during my bachelor’s studies was both challenging and rewarding. It was necessary to adjust to different ways of thinking and analyzing for each unique aspect of a program that integrates multiple disciplines. After all, learning topics like computer programming, physics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, mathematics, and biotechnology has given me the adaptability and abilities I need to succeed in any program or industry position in the future.
To alleviate financial strain, I completed my four-year BS in just three years. While this allowed me to graduate earlier, it also made me miss on some learning outcomes of key courses and not taking some valuable electives. To address this, I planned a gap year to come over all of my courses and expand my knowledge by taking additional ones. So far, I’ve completed six courses in areas like Data Analysis, AI Fundamentals, and Networking. I’ve also secured three internships in Data Science and Python Programming. These experiences have not only prepared me for professional work but they also sparked my passion for research in data analysis in the context of biological data.
My passion to join this research data analyst job at Technoculture is to contribute to meaningful research in the field of Bioinformatics. I am passionate to create advances in this field through manipulation of healthcare data. Moreover, I hope this opportunity would help me improve my skills and discover my potential in communicating scientific discoveries. With all of this being said, I would like to present myself as a candidate for this role you are offering and hope to hear good news from you soon.
Thank you for considering my application
**Sincerely,**
**Tamim**
