RESEARCH PROJECT
‘-Omics’ studies of Endometritis in Buffaloes
My research focuses on investigating endometritis in buffaloes by comparing the microbial compositions of healthy individuals with those affected by the disease. Furthermore, I aim to assess the impact of different treatments, such as Normal Saline and antibiotics, on these microbial communities. By collecting uterine swab samples, performing DNA extraction, and employing sequencing techniques, particularly from microbial communities, I aim to precisely identify and characterize various microbial species within each sample. This will be achieved through the utilization of software tools like DADA2 to ensure accurate analysis and interpretation of the sequencing results.

Cover Letter:
I have completed my master’s degree in biotechnology from Gujarat Biotechnology University. My dissertation project was on the topic “Omics analysis of Endometritis in buffaloes” where I have analyzed the bacterial diversity during endometritis condition, healthy and after giving them treatment. I have performed 16s rRNA sequencing of all the three kinds of samples collected from the uterus of buffaloes. And then I have analyzed the sequenced data using DADA2 software.
