Cover Letter:

I am Pyareelal Sahoo from Dhenkanal district of Odisha. I am a MSc graduate in the field of applied microbiology from Vellore Institute of Technology (2022). With a strong background in bioinformatics and genomic data interpretation, I am eager to contribute my expertise to your team.
While working on Klebsiella pneumoniae for my master thesis in NISER, I have screened around several strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae to find out persister cells that cause opportunistic infections such as urinary tract infection, pneumonia, pyogenic liver abscesses, and surgical site infection. The goal was to study and look for persister cells in Klebsiella pneumoniae clinical isolates and look into the genes implicated in non-genetic tolerance through different antimicrobial susceptibility testing, biphasic killing assays, heritability assays, extraction of total cellular RNA, and gene expression profiling by quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) in persister cells generated in response to levofloxacin therapy.
Apart from this field, I have some basic knowledge in different bioinformatics and molecular docking tools, which I gained while working on a SET project during my post-graduation in VIT. Measles is a highly infectious viral disease that affects the respiratory tract. Even though the vaccine was developed, it still concerns a group of populations in the world. A medicinal plant, Andrographis paniculata, which is locally called Green Chiretta, is an annual herbaceous plant that has numerous medicinal properties. The thirteen compounds from Andrographis paniculata were virtually docked with the major receptor proteins of measles using the Patch-Dock program for molecular docking. The results obtained were analyzed, and the docked structures are visualized using PyMOL software.
I believe my foundational knowledge of these core concepts and research experiences will contribute towards making me a good fit for the job role at your company. I will do my best to meet the high standards of your company on this count.
