I am writing to express my strong interest in joining your research group as a Researcher candidate. My name is Yogesh Mandhar, and I worked in Professor Sangit Kumar at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal, India. I am writing this letter for a potential Ph.D. position in your research group. I completed my graduation and post-graduation in synthetic organic chemistry from M.S. College, Saharanpur, affiliated to CCS University, Meerut U.P. My research experience has been primarily focused on the synthesis of complex organic compounds and the development of catalysts for various applications. I would like to highlight some of my notable research projects. In collaboration with Professor Kumar, my recent project involved the synthesis of a planar-chiral palladium complex derived from a weak oxygen donor, N, N-Di isopropyl ferrocene carboxamide. This work was published in Chemistry Select, highlighting the significance of our findings. Chemistry Select 2023, 8. Additionally, I conducted research on the synthesis of cobalt phenolate selenoether complexes for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction, which was published in Dalton Transactions, further expanding my expertise in catalysis. Dalton Trans., 2023,52, 159-174 Prior to these projects, I worked on the synthesis of chiral substituted 2-aryl-ferrocenes by employing the Catellani reaction. This research, published in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020, 85, 14866–14878, allowed me to delve into the realm of chiral synthesis and explore the diverse applications of these compounds. Furthermore, I contributed to the development of a strategy for C-S bond formation utilizing a catalytic amount of copper catalyst through 8-aminoquinoline directed C-H activation. This work, published in Chemistry Asian Journal, 2019, 14, 4807-4813, showcased my ability to design innovative synthetic methodologies. During my project tenure in IISER Bhopal, I got the opportunity to learn about basic chemical techniques such as column chromatography, handling organometallic reagent (nBuLi, Grignard reagents, etc.), Schlenk lines, and analysis-based software (ChemDraw, MestReNova), and some instrument techniques (UV, NMR Spectroscopy, MASS Spectrometry (HRMS), GC and HPLC. Buoyed by first-hand experience and enchanted by the prospects of daily life usage, I chose organic Chemistry as my primary subject. I genuinely think that my undergraduate training gives me research experiences to recognize and resolve the fascinating hurdles I will encounter during my research area. I am well prepared for further challenging studies and research in this field. Thank you for your time and interest in reviewing my application and expecting a favorable consideration, and I look forward to being associated with you.
    Yours Sincerely,
    Yogesh Mandhar
