My master’s project was based on molecular biology, titled “Assessment of the impact of Bisphenol A exposure on antioxidant status, DNA integrity, and tissue biomolecular composition in Poecilia sphenops.” It provided me with hands-on experience in the dissection of fish, DNA extraction, antioxidant enzyme assays, FTIR analysis, and lyophilization. During my academics, I performed plasmid isolation, PCR, and SDS-PAGE, and also learned the use of bioinformatics platforms like ‘BLAST, Galaxy, PyElph, and GWAS’. The project gave me a first-hand idea about research.
I have also done a training program in isocratic and gradient HPLC and GC instruments at Qualichem Laboratories Pvt. Ltd., Nagpur, India. Through this internship I became skilled with the sample preparation, mobile phase preparation, instrumentation, sample injection, method development, Chrome card and Chromeleon respectively, etc. The hands-on training at the lab gave me an on-the-job experience about the industrial setting.
I am keenly interested in pursuing a career in research. I would also like to mention that I possess good interpersonal and communication skills, have collaborative involvement, and adaptability with my peers in the laboratory.
