I am Varalaxmi Agasimundin currently working at SRF at TDU. I am applying for any suitable position in your organization. I believe my skill sets and passion makes me an ideal candidate for your organization. I have working experience with Different Projects with respect to next generation sequencing using Nanopore sequencing platforms (MinIon Oxford Nanopore), including planning and execution of different projects with respect to Next Generation Sequencing with a defined stream of work flow starting with DNA and RNA extraction ,Quality control, Library Preparations & validation and sequencing using Oxford Nanopore (MinIon) platforms,PCR optimization for HLA typing,Genome size estimation of plants using Flow-cytometry, Designing and carrying out of experiments for the development of in-house protocols for the extraction of DNA and RNA for different type of samples. I have also been involved in organizing workshops on different NGS applications in collaboration with Trans Disciplinary University (Bangalore), Performing live run and demo at different Institutes and University for students and researchers in the workshops and training programs. I have also worked as a trainee in Next Generation Genomics C-CAMP, NCBS under the guidance of Dr. Malali Gowda. My project was about “Identification and Characterization of Neem endophytes against fungal pathogens”. In particular; I have characterized the Neem fungal endophytes and tested their antifungal activity against fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae (causing rice blast disease).Additionally, I am well versed with DNA fingerprinting of the fungal endophytes and profiling of the endophytes for commercially important neem secondary metabolites, I have worked with Dr. [hidden] in mass spec facility in C-CAMP. And I have working experience for Animal husbandry for two facilities (ABSL -2 and ABSL-3 facility) for Assessing the health status of research animals periodically in accordance regulations and policies, Report abnormal observations to veterinary staff, Assist personnel in the research projects in ABSL2 & ABLS-3 and handling of infected animals, and the pathogenic agents, Perform anesthetic induction, maintenance and monitoring of animals, Preparation of bone marrow derived macrophages(BMDM), Maintenance of cell lines including cell culture techniques (cell freezing/thawing, cell seeding) Cell based SARS COV 2 Drug screening. Throughout my working career, I got enormous experience in Microbiology, Molecular biology and Mass spec techniques, NGS, and in vivo work and I believe that the research experience gained during my working has taught me sufficient technical expertise to be able to design and carry out the scientific problems independently. I will be very fortunate if I can get this position to expand in this field. Given an opportunity, I am very sure that I will be able to contribute successfully to your ongoing projects, while at the same time developing the technical skill set and knowledge that I will need to succeed in my future independent research endeavors. I strongly believe I have the skills and relevant research experience to contribute to the successful research endeavors being pursued by your group. Publication: UHPLC-MS/SRM method for quantification of neem metabolites from leaf extracts of Meliaceae family plants. I have attached my curriculum vitae including the list of three references and Work Experience. I look forward hearing from you.
