Research Project: “Antimicrobial Activity Assessment of Nodule-specific Cysteine-Rich (NCR) Peptides from Cicer arietinum”
Conducted a study on the antimicrobial potential of nodule-specific cysteine-rich (NCR) peptides extracted from chickpea root nodules. Peptides were fractionated and tested against E. coli and B. subtilis using broth microdilution. The 1–3 kDa fraction exhibited notable inhibition of B. subtilis, highlighting NCR peptides as promising plant-derived antimicrobial agents.

Assisted in sample processing, microbial culture, and identification of clinical isolates, performed Gram staining, biochemical testing, and antimicrobial sensitivity tests. Maintained laboratory records and followed biosafety protocols
