Cover Letter:

Dear Hiring Manager,
I am writing to express my interest in the position involving NGS data quality checks, variant analysis, and molecular diagnostic support at your organization. With a Master’s degree in Biosciences and a strong academic and research background in Bioinformatics and molecular biology, I bring both the technical competence and collaborative mindset that align with the role’s core responsibilities. My expertise includes performing comprehensive NGS data analysis in Linux environments using shell scripting, as well as hands-on experience with genome-wide DNA sequencing and variant interpretation. I am well-versed in bioinformatics tools and platforms such as PyMOL, Discovery Studio, CASTp, and AutoDock Vina, alongside key databases including NCBI, PDB, PubMed, UniProtKB, Swiss-Prot, PubChem, OMIM, Ensembl, and ExPASy.
In the laboratory, I have worked extensively with core molecular biology techniques such as SDS-PAGE, ELISA, agarose gel electrophoresis, plasmid/DNA/RNA/protein isolation, PCR, and transformation. My microbiology background includes screening bacterial isolates, cell-line maintenance, media preparation, and operating essential instruments like CO₂ incubators, high-speed centrifuges, colorimeters, and laminar flow hoods. Additionally, I have experience with immunological assays such as Dot ELISA, double immuno-diffusion, RH grouping, and haemoglobin estimation.
I am particularly drawn to your organization’s commitment to clinical genetics and data-driven diagnostics. My prior research experience in drug discovery using CADD pipeline, project titled “screening ligands against 3CLpro, PLpro, NRP1 and RBD of SARs-CoV-2 virus” and “Screening, Characterisations and isolation of Cellulolytic soil bacteria”, along with my literature curation skills, prepares me to support timely, accurate test reporting and collaborate effectively with both lab and informatics teams.
Eager to contribute to internal research initiatives and assay development, I am confident in my ability to adapt quickly, communicate clearly, and uphold the scientific integrity and precision your team values. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my skills and enthusiasm to your lab.
Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the possibility of discussing how I can contribute to your team.
Sincerely,
K. Anusha
