Cover Letter:
To E-Merge Tech
Dear Sir/Ma’am,
My journey in science began in 7th grade when I presented a project as a substitute for my friend who could not come to the Science exhibition. The sheer number of ideas around me that day made me curious about science and encouraged me to come up with my own ideas for the next exhibition. From that day onwards, I have tried to keep my mind open to learning and developing innovative ideas and thinking.
I am Anamika. K and I am a recent M.Sc. graduate in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I am looking for opportunities to start my career in Life Sciences. I came across the position of Research Associate (Bio-Curator) at E-Merge Tech on BioTecNika, and I am very excited to apply for this position. I believe my interest in biological research and the knowledge I gained through my degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology can contribute to the team.
During my dissertation, I have learned how to conduct literature searches and retrieve necessary and relevant data from the literature. The introductory course to Bioinformatics, in which I was enrolled in has taught me how to use the advanced search facilities of various databases for data collection. Apart from this, the course also introduced me to various bioinformatics databases like GenBank, PDB, etc. I have made use of these databases at different stages of my dissertation.
My experience in research, literature search and databases, which I gained during my dissertation, will be helpful in conducting literature searches, extracting and curating the data and interpreting the data as the Bio-Curator and could contribute to the team.
Thank you for considering my application, and I hope to get a positive response regarding the selection to the next round.
Yours sincerely,
Anamika. K
